Brief info
Mussarat Mirza, a painter of great repute. Born in 1939 in Sukkur, “Mussarat has lived away from the mainstream of art production in Pakistan since the late Sixties. She served at the University of Sindh, Jamshoro as Head of the Fine Arts Department till 1999.
She started painting at an early age, a time when hardly any woman was seen outdoors in the area. She owed her artistic sensibilities to her father. She was awarded Life time Achievement Award at Lahore Literary Festival 2016. She is a recipient of Tamgha-i-Imtiaz, awarded by Government of Pakistan. Mirza lives and works in Sukhur, Sindh.
