Born in 1993 Quetta, Balochistan. Muhammad Jawad is currently based in Lahore. He belongs to the ethnic minority of Hazara, based in Quetta city. He completed his Bachelor’s Degree with Honors in Fine Arts (Miniature Painting) from National College of Arts in 2019 and Printmaking as a minor. Jawad’s work is about questioning the meanings we derive from text mostly from print media and other forms of media that we see and read in our daily lives and the effect of it on how we perceive our surroundings. Jawad has recently exhibited in a Group Show in Satrang Gallery and 12.O Contemporary Gallery in Islamabad. He also exhibited in Group show “Forty One” at Zahoor-ul-Akhlaq Gallery in National College of Arts Lahore, Young Artists Exhibition Alhamra Lahore. He is selected for the Principal’s Honors Award from the same institute. He was one of the participating Artist in Lahore Biennale 01, “Maktab Project” curated by Imran Qureshi. He was also the co-curator of Public Art Event and Exhibition “Storytelling” in Quetta. He has contributed in several art related events in his hometown.
