Brief info
Hailing from Hyderabad, Sindh, Hussain graduated in Fine Arts (2009) from National College of Arts, Lahore. His contemporary approach towards art making is more of a syntheses incorporating the sensibilities of subcontinent’s miniature painting and postmodern sculpture. He weaves contemporary narratives into themes of culture and tradition to investigate high-craft vs low-craft.
Hussain has exhibited his work in numerous shows nationally and internationally, including Fifth Beijing International Art Biennale 2012 at National Art Museum of china and Solo exhibition 2015 at Embassy of the Kingdom of Netherlands. He is recipient of Award Grant for Rockefeller Brothers Artist Residency New York 2013 and Award Grant The Artist Students League Artist Residency New York 2016. His work is part of the Devi Art Foundation museum, New Delhi India.
Hussain is a full time visual Artist living in Lahore, Pakistan.
